About Us

For the past 12 years Centre Street Food Pantry (CSFP) in Newton Centre has been providing nutritious food to families from the eight communities we serve (Newton, Brookline, Needham, Waltham, Watertown, Wellesley) The Covid-19 crisis has almost tripled demand at our pantry. This year we’ve served an average of 1000 local families each month, feeding over 3000 individuals monthly. • We now operate a curbside pickup model and load groceries directly in shoppers' cars. • Shoppers receive healthy food, produce, baked goods, protein, staples and hygiene items, providing supplies for a week of healthy meals, based on family size. • We strive to maintain a dignified and compassionate environment for our clients, from the minute they arrive and are greeted by smiling volunteers. • Additionally, we have a Kids' Club program which fills a critical gap when school lunches are not available. We offer gift cards several months of the year and meal prep items to make holiday time less stressful. • We rely on the generosity of the community: 90% of our funding comes from local donors. • Strong partnerships with local businesses are essential at CSFP. Dozens of volunteers of all ages who help us on a weekly basis to pack, stock and distribute food and support our fundraising and food drive efforts.
