Back in April, when the COVID shut down had just begun, we assembled a panel of local merchants and asked them to share their thoughts about survival and the future of retail. It’s been four months and we’ve decided to call back our panel to see how their businesses are holding up and to share current concerns and challenges. From navigating PPP loans and rent relief discussions to shifting online and rallying community support, we'll touch on a medley of our local retailers' firsthand experiences and take your questions.
We'll also have a presentation from the Retailers Association of Massachusetts, highlighting the results of a recent merchant survey and a discussion of ways state and local governments can help independent retailers.
Our panelists:
Eileen Baker, Proud Mary Gifts
Cindy Carrigan, The Barn Family Shoe Store
Linda de Valpine, Greentail Table
Barry Segel, Mr. Sid
Opening remarks by: Ryan C. Kearney, Retailers Association of Massachusetts
Moderated by: John Rufo, Form & Place
